Ground Squirrel, Two Medicine Campground, Glacier Park

At Two Medicine, you don't go to the wildlife; the wildlife comes to you. Inquisitive, intelligent, and brazen, this ground squirrel makes his rounds for handouts. As always, tourists are cautioned against reinforcing such behavior. Wild animals may appear tame; nevertheless, they will butt or bite unpredictably when they feel threatened. Their innate feeding habits have evolved to ensure winter survival and are completely disrupted by the least amount of exotic food.
